José was first licensed in 1989 as CT1EEB. His grandfather, who was a radio Engineer, gave him a Uniden 2020 when he was 12 years old, so he spend most of his teenage youth listening to the radio waves with the SWL callsign CT01056.
The same day he got his HAM license he started calling CQ DX in 28 MHz.
He lived and worked in several countries and operated CO0OTA from Cuba, 4W6EB from Timor-Leste, VK8CS from the Australian outback and LA3PUA from Norway.
He was also active from several IOTAs and other /portable operations.
Recently joined the RIB group of operator’s in VP6A, E51D, CB0ZEW and N5J (Jarvis) in coming August.
José is actually a Cyber-Security Engineer for an International Organization and the Portuguese Gov.
DXCC entity totals are now 340/349 with DXCC #1 Honor Roll, DXCC Challenge with 3242 and10 band DXCC, 5BandWAZ with 160m., WARC and 6m, 5BandWAS with160m, WARC and 6m, IOTA with 1111 Islands and DXCC 60m band with 247 Entities.
He is a member of REP, ARRL and A-1 Operator Club
